BOOK REVIEW: Kensuke's Kingdom

PLOT SYNOPSIS: Michael's Mum and Dad had a job at the brick works but suddenly the brick works goes bust and Michael's Mum and Dad lose their jobs .They both start looking for new jobs, but they are unsuccessful, so Michael's Dad finds a boat called the Peggy Sue and off they go.

 One night though when Stella (the dog) wasn't strapped in Michael came to play with her when he let go of the lucky ball his friend Eddie gave him. Then, a big wave went over them and Michael let go of the safety rails and he was swept into the ocean.

 The first time he woke up he thought he was dead, but no, he was on a beach with Stella who was licking him on the face. He was on a island so he ventured to find some food and water. He couldn't find any though and he thought he would die from starvation or dehydration, so he found a cave and went to sleep. He found food and water mysteriously outside the cave. He ate it. Though he did it with great suspicion as to whom gave him this food. He then lit a fire but then when he came back he saw someone putting the fire out. It was an old man. He said no fire and drew a line marking Michael's side and his side. Then, he said don't go into the water so Michael made a beacon and he lit it. He then saw a ship but the man put his beacon out and got rid of the piece of glass he had used to light the fire. Michael was furious. He broke all the rules the old man had told him to follow, and when he went into the sea a giant jellyfish took hold of him. He cried "help" but it stung him. 

The next time Michael opened his eyes he saw the old man. They went fishing, and painting together, then the old man said "please teach me English". They laughed together and they did fun stuff with each other and they built a beacon if a ship came by. Then, one day they saw a ship. They went up to light the fire and the ship came. They both hugged each other, jumping up and down with excitement. However, when the ship came he saw it was the Peggy Sue. The old man called Kensuke then said " I must stay Michal because this is Kensuke's Kingdom. Also don't write about me for 10 years so I will be dead". They both said a sad goodbye and they went their separate ways.

WHAT I LIKE: I like everything about this book because it is nice, and happy. Also it is emotional at the end.

WHAT I DISLIKE: I don't really dislike anything. Actually the whole book is good.

STARS OUT OF TEN: I really liked Kensuke's Kingdom. It is a 9.5/10.

    I loved this book too son. Try and use different images next time.

  The house is finished! This is me and Auntie Egghead in the new house. The first event that happened was that we arrived at Hoi An. On the first day we really just settled in and slept. On the 2nd day Auntie Egghead arrived. Although we had to drive Uncle John ( The 2nd John. Daddy's the first John) to the hospital because he went to Phu Quoc ( an island owned by Vietnam) and ripped open his elbow on a rock. SHADYSIDE 5: NAVY HOUSE (Unfinished)

  SHADYSIDE 5 : NAVY HOUSE Introduction This is me as I write this blog.       ↙ Shadyside 5 : Navy house is our new house in An my, which is in the rice fields of Hoi An, in Quang Nam province, in central VN.                  This a map of VN with Hoi An pinned.   The outside This is Shadyside 5 :  The Navy House. To be exact this is the outside of the new house, but the house is not finished yet as you will see in a moment in the next picture / paragraph. As you can see the house is split into three parts, not one, not two, three parts! The first one is the garage behind the big blue door on the left. That is where you park the motorbikes because you don't want them in the rain outside wet and sad. However, we haven't put the roof on yet so as you can see the house is not quite finished yet. My new dog - Donny!

My new dog Donny!⮟ On Thursday, July, 13, 2023. I got a new dog! It is a Toy Poodle and he is only two months old. His name is Donny and he was very clever and cute the first time I saw him IRL ( I n R eal L ife). Here is a picture of him: He's cute isn't he? I made a choice that he is the dog that I am going to pick. I named him Donny because the Doncaster Rovers ( The team that is from Doncaster where my Dad was born) mascot is a dog too and he is called Donny too.  Here is me and Donny (the real dog) together: I am writing this blog on the second full day I have had him and he is sleeping now. This dog is so funny, he rolls over, so that means, Tickle Time! Anyway I love this dog. He is very calm unlike my other dog that I used to have called Daveo who has ADHD, so he cannot stay still, but this dog is the absolute opposite. We have already almost trained him already to pee and poop in the toilet. That is why I love this dog Donny already. It has been so much fun with him
